Good News, Job Seekers

New job data is in and the news is good if you are a job seeker. Job trends are looking up and if you are in the right place in Canada looking for work, your prospects are looking good. According to new data from Workopolis, there were more than half a million-job openings in Canada in November 2013. Compared to the same period in 2012, this represents a 22% increase in job vacancies and that is very good news ! What is even better news is that this increase in job posting is happening in every job category and every region of the country except Quebec.  According to Workopolis, Quebec actually saw a 4% decline in job postings.

So, holiday season or not, don’t give up on your job search. Sharpen your tools (resumes, interview skills, networking) and be ready.  By the way, congratulations, to Lulu – she just landed a job as a Lab. Manager at the University of Calgary!

Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.  May the season and the year ahead bring you much joy, love, happiness and fulfilment.
